ADVANCED JAVASCRIPT DEVELOPMENT

Photobucket sought a new storytelling feature to augment their existing online photo-sharing application. They needed a solution set in JavaScript application frameworks (backbone and node). Our challenge was to engineer a seamless interface system with user generated photos, videos and comments into a chronological storytelling application.

“Quick Left has been a great partner for Photobucket's product development team. They are very knowledgeable, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile. When we brought them in to help with Photobucket Stories, we set very aggressive deadlines, and their high powered engineers delivered. But what really impressed me was how they integrated with our team. Almost immediately, our two groups gelled and were working as one.”

Doug McCuen, Director of Engineering at Photobucket

Cross Platform Solution

Photobucket Stories offers a way to share slideshows and scrapbooks in digital form. The interface allows users to tell complete narrative stories through a timeline of photos, videos and text using cutting edge JavaScript frameworks.

API Conversion

We were able to use an evolving API as an interface into Photobucket’s systems, but as the product matured, it was decided that a direct integration into Photobucket’s code stack was needed. Working closely with Photobucket’s engineering team, we were able to convert a standalone API based javascript application into a directly integrated part of their application.

Functional Prototyping

Project engagement was originally five weeks to deliver a functional prototype. This was extended, at the client’s request, to a five month engagement with a production ready product delivered at the end.
