Join us at Quick Left on November 19th at 2:30pm for a discussion about how we created an all-inclusive environment and evaluated our internal processes to allow for better diversity across all spectrums. We'll also be joined by leading diversity experts Gerry Valentine and LGBTQ Meetup Co-organizer and NCWIT board member Sarah E. Brown who will share steps you can take to identify bias, share data supporting the diversity argument, and tips you can take to create a better company in the process.
Quick Left is being honored by Mercury 100 as one of the fastest-growing, privately held companies in the Boulder Valley.
From entrepreneurs and investors to tech gurus and local Boulderites, this year's Boulder Startup Week (BSW) brought the community together for a week filled with discussion, learning, networking and partying. There was something for everyone, like panel discussions on the tech industry's most current challenges, presentations celebrating the human spirit, and outdoor activities that gave us an hour or two to get out of the office and free our minds from our work duties.
Last week a handful of QLers attended and volunteered at the first ever MergeLane Demo Day. MergeLane is an accelerator program that mentors and funds companies with women founders. The CEO and Founder of MergeLane, Sue Heilbronner, opened the event with a discussion about pride, and how proud she was to be surrounded by a community of mentors, startups and investors, that have been so supportive of MergeLane's efforts. The conference room at the St. Julian was completely packed, and the awesome turnout reminded me just how interconnected and instrumental the Boulder tech community really is.
This past Tuesday I attended the seventh annual CU New Venture Challenge. NVC gives startups the opportunity to pitch their businesses to the Boulder community for a chance to win cash prizes. Before the championship, the startups build their business ideas in an entrepreneurial flight simulator through events, workshops and mentorship.
