Portland-based PIE Graduate ‘Stand In’ Wins Quick Left’s $64,000 Custom Software Development Competition

Stand In Adopt a Startup Competition

BOULDER, Colo., January 13, 2015 — Portland-based Stand In stood out in Quick Left’s Adopt a Startup accelerator-esque startup competition. Stand In, a Portland Incubator Experiment graduate, is an Adobe® Photoshop® based software, created specifically to enable designers to build functional mobile application prototypes directly from Photoshop, in real time. Stand In’s platform empowers designers to create those engaging experiences, on an actual device, without having to write a single line of code.

“Stand In’s platform is one that we would use to help our UX Design and Product Discovery processes,” said Ingrid Alongi, CEO of Consulting at Quick Left. “As the CEO of a company that has launched hundreds of MVPs into the market, I think this could be a game changer for the industry. ”

Quick Left’s Adopt a Startup competition offered pre-Series A companies the chance to apply to win a month valued at $64,000 of custom software development services. More than 50 companies in the Portland and Denver area applied with Stand In ranking the highest among competitors in market viability, engineering execution, and marketability.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with Quick Left for their first ‘Adopt a Startup Competition’!” said Kat Bobbitt Cofounder and CEO of Stand In. “We’re looking forward to being able to move even faster with the help of their talented developers. Quick Left is familiar with our market and the problem that we’re solving which makes them the perfect partner for us”.

Quick Left kicked off work with Stand In’s team at the start of 2015 and will wrap up the engagement with a co-sponsored event during Portland Startup Week on February 3rd.

About Stand In

At the beginning of 2013, Asa Miller and Kat Bobbitt founded Stand In as a solution to the existing process of designing for mobile. As designers themselves, Asa and Kat found designing on a desktop for a multitude of device screens to be lacking. They wanted a tool that would allow them to rapidly test their UX/UI designs as they created them on the devices they were intended for. So they created the very tool they desired. Stand In is the new, and best, way to design for mobile. Stand In is headquartered in Portland, OR, and an alumni of PIE (Portland Incubator Experiment.)
