Meet the Team: QLer Lorinda Jackson

Lorinda lives in Vernon, BC, Canada with her husband and four children. She’ll be a Customer Care Specialist for Sprintly, Quick Left’s project management tool. She loves Vernon, where they have long summers and mild winters. The SilverStar mountain chalet is a 20 minute drive from their door. Similar to Colorado, there are a ton of lakes, rivers and outdoor activities. In her spare time Lorinda likes to run and has booked her first half marathon as well as an 18k trail race. In addition to running, Lorinda enjoys camping, biking, kayaking, snowboarding, and fishing. She is a Registered Massage Therapist and practices as a Spa Practitioner. For fun, Lorinda taught herself programming and has knowledge of Ruby on Rails, Python, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. She hopes to jump on some projects soon, but is pressed for time. Lorinda recently started an app with a friend, which will be a casual project for her so she can learn more about programming.

A. A recent quote I saw at another cafe: “I always choose a lazy person because they always find the easiest way to get the job done.”

3. Q. If you could be any fictional or historical character, who would it be? Why?

5. Favorite place in the world? Why?

A. Out of the places I have already been? I would say in the magic of Northern BC where my Aunts and Uncles lived; “Kitwanga” and “Smithers.” It’s magical there, that’s all I can really say; Northern BC beauty that is breathtaking!! Mountains and rivers… and is the gateway to Alaska.

6. Q. If you could sing one song absolutely flawlessly, what song would it be?

A. “And IIIIIIIIIIIII…. Willllll Alwayyyyssss Lovvve Youuuu” by Whitney Houston, all because it’s an incredibly difficult song to sing well and everyone sings it terribly. The song is epic.
