Hack4theArts Lafayette: A Civic Coding Event sponsored by Quick Left

We have a soft spot for supporting STEM programs like High School Robotics teams, and NCWIT. We're now stepping up to support Hack4theArts Lafayette. This is all-day event allows hackers to produce free, open source tools to help increase awareness of Lafayette's extensive Public Art.

Hack4theArts Lafayette is September 20, 2014 at The Post Brewing Company in Lafayette, CO. This is a day-long event where community volunteers will create new and fun web or mobile applications to build awareness and engagement with Lafayette’s public art. Join other civic-minded geeks for a day of coding, food, prizes, and more!

At the event, participants will work individually or in small teams, developing solutions to a Challenge posed by the organizers. Leveraging freely-available content and data, participants will collaborate in groups to create dynamic solutions.

Each solution will be evaluated by a panel of judges at the end of the day and awards given in several categories. One of the winning solutions will be completed during subsequent coding sessions, and made freely available to the broader community.

Prizes will be awarded to participants throughout the day through random drawings and fun games. Prizes will be funded through business sponsorships and by grant funding already secured from the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission.
