Brain Fuel Food: Quick-N-Easy Snacks
If you’ve met me, then you’ve heard me ramble ad nauseum about how lucky I am to work at QL with such amazing people and in such an incredible environment. If you haven’t met me, then I’ll save the whole schpiel for another time. Right now, however, I will just say: I am soooo lucky to spend my days at QL.
Why? I’m so glad you asked =) We have been working with a health and wellness coach who is not only super smart and totally rad, but is full of great ideas too. Alex Gil of ale-fitness is a Certified Personal Trainer and Holistic Life Coach. She provides us with simple strategies and tools to maximize health and vitality. During each weekly visit, she discusses important topics that empower us to make the best decisions about our well being.
Last week, Alex provided us with a list of quick and healthy snack ideas, which, for me, is definitely helpful and makes my life easier. (See why I love working at QL). Here are some nutrient-packed-brain-power-snack ideas.
* hard boiled eggs
* unsalted nuts and seeds
* raw cheese
* baby carrots
* organic yogurt
* whole raw milk
* unsweetened nut butter and apple wedges
* frozen peas
I also learned from Alex that there are over 700 added chemicals in our city water. As a result of those additives it’s super important to use a filter for the majority of your drinking water. (Think about it, chlorine is meant to kill stuff, right? Well, not only does it kill stuff in the water, but it also kills all that good bacteria in your gut -- the stuff you want to keep alive and happy.)
Anyhoo, that’s it for now folks. As usual, lmk if I can help you eat, live or feel better.
